ICAO App clearance issues
 

as far as ops concerend under ICAO ATC standard, and when you are given instructions as below:-

"direct to WP XYZ, descend to 1600, cleared ILS RWY 00 APP"

and condition is that Iinitial Approach Fix(WP XYZ) has mandatory altitude of 1600.

Can I descend to fly above 1600 assuming alt restriction is cancelled over XYZ?

Track kile from XYZ is about 16nm.

If the condition is a mandatory altitude of 1600 at the IAF and you have a descent clearance to that altitude then you would descend as necessary in order to cross XYZ at 1600 then continue in compliance with the cleared ILS procedure.
