In the UK, this tower would be a Grade 2 listed building, purely because of its unique status, and regardless of any architectural merit.

That looks pretty cool. But I'd imagine a retired controller would be the last person who'd want to live there.
And, I'd bet, in the US, somebody would buy it, move in, then file an airport noise complaint!
