Transferring to TC from an airport
I was wondering whether there's any precedent for an APS/ADC rated controller at a NATS airport transferring to TC?
Wouldn't mind doing this in a couple of years, maybe, but not sure if it can be done. |

How about folks who are ex-NATS and would like to rejoin the fold?

Not necessarily, it depends on the circumstances at the time.

However, the OP & the subsequent poster are asking about the situation as it is, rather than as it may have been some time ago.

In Talkdownman's case it was an advertised vacancy for a post he had already done and the HR people still wouldn't offer decent terms; they treated me badly too when I asked about staying on after I was 60 years old.

Just to add some perspective..
For every ATCO that gets an internal transfer to another unit in Nats, there are tens who request it but don't get it. Getting a transfer in Nats is the exception, not the norm. |
and it's one thing getting the posting, quite another actually getting released from your (inevitably) understaffed unit
