GPS Scrambling - France

What could be the cause of the GPS scrambling affecting the south of France since this week end ? :hmm:

Further and better particulars? Are signals being jammed, or spoofed?

Exactly where did it happen. Was it near Montpellier?

Domi 4th Nov 2019 15:38

Several aircraft reported having lost the GPS signal between Marseille and St Tropez.
We had this problem and our GNSS displayed zero satelitte.
The situation returned to normal leaving the area.

Multinational military exercise VOLFA 2019, was NOTAMed.. You did not see the NOTAM ?
Expect more of these as the East is slowly becoming again a very dangerous place ..

Well, in fact, the jamming came from a big private yacht with very powerfull jamming device on board.
Investigation is in progress.
The jamming occured the 3rd of November.
VOLFA 2019 started the 4th of november.

Very interesting , thanks, you know the nationality of the owner of the yacht? There was a couple of similar such reported incidents with Lorries jamming devices parked near airports . If all come down to the same nationality we might be looking at someone testing the vulnerabilities of our systems . Time to bring back Loran C..
