VCR design

I've noticed recently that existing tower at Leeds Bradford and the old towers at Norman Manley and Sangster in Jamaica have exactly the same design of VCR. All of these are at least fifty years old. Was it usual, or is it still, for airports so far apart to share such a design ? I always thought the LBA VCR was unique; now I know it isn't although still quite distinctive.

In the UK, Bournemouth and Blackpool have the same VCR and I think much of the tower buildings are derived from a Ministry drawing. Same at Carlisle but with a different VCR.

I would post some pictures but I don't have access to any that aren't copyrighted. Sorry but plenty on Google !
