Gatwick

Anyone know how things are going at Gatwick these days with ANS.

Last I heard was that there was a struggle to get 6 people trained up quickly enough, assuming the 6 are valid now, will Gatwick be looking to recruit anymore seeing as they have the Edinburgh contract, will anyone be looking to move up'North?

Why not look at their website for starters?

Just been reading in the Gulf News today that Mumbai says it has overtaken Gatwick as busiest single runway airport based on daily averages for financial year ending 2017!
Mumbai 837 v Gatwick 757! And Mumbai had 45.2m pax? Interesting as Nats is doing a lot in India. Funny old world.
Of course some might say hourly utilisation is key figure....

With 1 flight in 65 secs, Mumbai busiest single-runway airport | GulfNews.com

Not sure where they got those numbers from but they're off.

Obviously these are record numbers, and then there are averages which will be lower, but not that much lower.

Controllers at Gatwick beat their own record - NATS

Also I'm pretty certain that article is of as well, as I recall the latest record at Gatwick is 950 movements in one day set during summer 2016.

The article makes a point of differentiating between average and peak movement rates, although it slightly under-reports Gatwick's stats, which were 767 fixed-wing movements per day in 2016 rather than 757.

Here's what appears to be the original Times of India article that the Gulf News one is based on:

Now, Mumbai world's busiest airport with only one runway

Despite the somewhat confusing infographic, which appears to suggest that there are twice as many arrivals as departures(!):

there doesn't seem any reason to doubt BOM's 837 movements per day average.
