So they don't have a standby power supply which automatically comes on line when mains power fails?

THey told us we had those at LATCC but I guess they never switched it on!!

Worked perfectly at Farnborough when we had a mains failure.
Unfortunately it had been installed before our new display system (Cossor Compass 9000 consoles) was fitted and the extra power needed to run those overloaded the standby power supply so that failed too!

Sounds like a UPS or switching failure, judging from the somewhat ambiguous info in the article.
