Stand Sizing

Apologies if this is in the wrong section/already been answered. Does anyone know where it is possible to find the maximum wingspan/acceptable aircraft at individual gates/parking stands?

Primarily looking for information for the UK however information for any other airports would also be useful. I have a looked at a number of charts from NATS and could not find any relevant information.

Thank you in advance

Stand Sizing

It depends on what code aircraft it's designed for ?

Towteambase yes, but finding the information of what code aircraft it was built for is the same information I am looking for, which i cant find.

Nutloose, thank you for the links however these are not what I am looking for, I am looking for specifics with regards to each stand at each airport (major ones), finding the aircraft data is widely available.

I have asked about this in another forum, inhabited by a lot of BAA guys, and they say - ' You are unlikely to find in the UK AIP what aircraft fit on what stands at UK airports, possibly one or two of the smaller airports but complex ones, no. This information is more likely to be in an individual aerodrome's Aerodrome Manual which tends to be a semi-public document. Those that need the information have access, not sure how many would be found on the internet. I see a lot of wasted telephone calls in your immediate future.....

Agree with Minesthechevy. At large UK airports details of actual stand sizes for aircraft types is normally published in airport's internal documents. As a general rule though when a stand is designed as MARS (Multi Aircraft Ramp System) it means the left and right side can be allocated medium size types up to 36m wingspan eg A320/B737 types. When the middle line is used it is normally at least B777/A340/B747 size but left and right sides cannot be used simultaneously. Just as the middle line can't be used when smaller types are on left and right.

Stands are invariably delimited by edge markings, which are readily visible on Google Earth. It's not difficult to use GE to determine their dimensions and thereby get a pretty good idea of what aircraft codes they are intended for.
