FOD Pilot Report
 
Other than common sense - is it written anywhere that a pilot / company needs to report, in this case, 'possible' FOD to the airport authorities?

E.g. - After ramp in - tire is found to be shredded - don't know if happened on take-off or landing. Written requirements anywhere - and if 'only' company / airport, how is it worded?

Report definitely....common sense....to protect you and your operator. It's all about liability. If you pass on the information to the relevant authority and they do nothing about it....you've done all you can in the short term. Imagine that the FOD caused damage or affected another aircraft in some way....perhaps being thrown up and puncturing a fuel tank.
Sometimes a regulation isn't needed, sometimes it is just the right thing to do.

It's a long time since I did my ATC Legislation course, but there was something in The U.K.'s Air Navigation Order about 'Reporting of hazardous conditions'.
It was a short paragraph if I remember correctly, either in the 'Articles' or 'Rules Of The Air'. It wasn't specific to FOD and was wide-ranging in it's applicability, (I think). It may have been 'Pilot's report of hazardous conditions'. It was a long time-ago, but I would think it unlikely that it's not still there.
I spent some time yesterday trying to find it in the current 'on-line' version, but so far without success.
