medical examination

Hi all,

I just passed FEAST 1 and will continue the selection procedure. I know I still have a long way to go, but at the end there's a medical examination and I was wondering about the requirements. I have myopia in both eyes (-2.5) and can't wear contactlenses. I however do have perfect vision with my glasses on.

Will this be fine or do I have to worry?

Well done , and good luck with the next stage. I can't give you exact figures as it can come down to different companies/countries criteria, although for Europe they are supposed to be aligning all the requirements. I'm +2/2.5. It used to be -5/+5 in the UK with a few caveats but a lot of organisations would specify a lower tolerance for acceptance, although this wouldn't stop you passing the aviation medical. Reasoning for requiring a lower figure was they invest long term in you. Hiring a 20year old with -5/-5 runs a high risk of loss of licence as they get older. With your prescription you should have no problems.
