Belgocontrol bond

Anyone know how long the Belgocontrol contract bond is? It only lists:
Training is 2-3 years.
Job is guaranteerd afterwards.

Nothing else. I'd guess they would want to keep you there at least 3 years or so.

I can't give you a definitive answer about Belgocontrol but I suspect that there is no bond (certainly in practise). Bonds have not been common for ab initio training in the ATC business in the past and where they have been included in contracts apocryphal tales suggest that they are effectively unenforceable.

I think you've got a typo in your post - if you get through the training I'd guess they would want to keep you there for about 30 years or so. ;)

More seriously, where do you think you would go in the first few years after completing your training? Those attractive places that recruit experienced controllers are typically looking for people with a good track record, which takes a few years to get behind you, and having demonstrated that you can do the job in a variety of environments, which is probably easier to achieve in an ANSP providing services at a number of sites.
