Student ATCO

Good evening !
I'm new to this forum and would like to ask a question.
Do any of you happen to know if there is any atc organization that looks for student air traffic controllers? I have no field experience but I hold a student license for approach and ACC.
Thank you very much !

I will quote myself from a very similar topic (http://www.pprune.org/atc-issues/550...oking-ojt.html)

""How did you end up with a student rating with nobody to train you? Did you self sponsor? If so why did you self sponsor rather than join one of the ANSPs that train from scratch [...]

There seems to be background information missing.""

For example, what language qualifications do you hold? If you speak for example ICAO level 5 German then obviously you can look for jobs there, if not then it's a no-go. It's very diffcult (I think) to give suggestions with so little information available.

....... Double post

It was not self sponsored. I just want to find out if there are atc organizations that look for student licensed atcs without field experience.

I personally know of no area positions for experienced controllers, never mind student controllers. It seems to be the norm now to train from an ab-initio level on the area side at all times, the only place I can think of that recruits experienced controllers is the middle east. However I think you may struggle to get employment there with no experience.

You could try various airports with your approach rating, many smaller airports don't train in-house but instead put out vacancies for controllers as they need them. However I think your lack of an aerodrome rating will be a penalty against other candidates. You also need to realise that a prospective employer will want to know why you were not offered training with your original ANSP.

When in training you get the impression that once you have the rating it's all good, I found when I got out in the real world that before you have validated it's actually worth very little.

but I hold a student license for approach and ACC.
You have 2 "student licences" (Area and Approach) but no unit endorsement for either?

To put it mildly that's strange.

It was not self sponsored.
What ANSP would give you 2 ratings without getting you experienced in one for a few years initially before sending you off to get a second?

I just want to find out if there are atc organizations that look for student licensed atcs without field experience.
Unless they are desperately short of staff most ANSP's wouldn't touch you.

As Crazy Voyager says most small airports want Tower/Approach combination for obvious reasons.

Typically the middle east wants a minimum of 5 years actual experience because this means you have a better chance of not failing the assessment.

Swede?

Might be a swede

the current situtation in sweden for controller students is unfortunetly a bit disturbing. The biggest Swedish provider (LFV) has been pushing out a large ammount of students that isn't needed. LFV has now stopped traning and several students have been dropped from the program or have been notified they aren't getting any jobs even if they finish it.

These stuents have been more or less forced to study logistics for 1,5-2 years to before starting ATCO training. So most of them have wasted several years or thier lives trying to become controllers and are now pretty much useless if noone accepts to take them on with noting more than a studentlicence.

It is one student license only. There is a list of ratings in it.. In my case it is ACC,ACS,APP AND ADI
