'Holding Positions' - safety wins for once!

Good news: The UK has dropped the phraseology 'holding position', following an increase in runway incursions.

Funnily enough, when introduced, I and others here said, 'that phraseology will lead to more runway incursions...'

Well done to those involved in effecting the change.

'Bad job' to those who, driven by an unchecked desire for standardisation with ICAO practice, regardless of how unsafe it may be, introduced this change in the first place.

We (Sweden) changed from "holdingpoint" to "holdingposition"this february, and I can tell you, there are mixed feelings!
As a result many ATCO's refuse to use the new fraseology......
