Details about becoming watch supervisor , unit supervisor...? |
hola argan
You also need to be a controller first of all so you can make friends with all those that you subsequently stitch up, or maybe not in certain circumstances, hence why you get the promotion for being an ar$ehOl.
Not a position desired by many....... |
You also need to be a major mover in the union.......then you can be a poacher turned gamekeeper.....:cool::cool:
|
Get the turd polishing practice in now.

Your Spanish ATCO Licence is unlikely to be recognised by NATS or the UK CAA. In any case there will be a 'waiting list' of people wanting to take on supervisory responsibility so you would have to work at whatever unit you're sent to for a long time before becoming a supervisor.
|
....unless you are quite adept at failing now and again. It has been known for nats to reward failure on the odd occasion with promotion....
|
Thank u guys.
Actually my question makes sense in order to determine if a supervisor is a career open competition ( no interview, just promoted on professional merits, or a supervisor becomes just a "big managerīs" decision). Our profession must be respected by all stakeholders, and our experience ( not only managers interests and rewards) must be the starting point of operational daily basis. All stakeholders should work together (considering different interests) to build a safe, efficient an flexible single sky. |

My only tip would be to start your application with the word 'So...':E |

:8 I ll never do that, at least while "cost cutting" seems to be the ONLY goal ( and personal rewards) of actual air traffic management. |
Your Spanish ATCO Licence is unlikely to be recognised by NATS or the UK CAA. Argan - don't suppose you work at Palma do you? I could do you a swap, Mrs Noise would like that. |
Fortunately I am not in Palma, nice place but I guess my colleagues are having really tough times. Actually I am not happy in spain either ( 6 days off in july), I don t know when I am having hollidays, I donīt know if I will have to work in my day off, I don t when I wlll see my daughter, headaches, cervical contractures....
Anyway, I like UK but I prefer another country to move in. Always liked southamerica, any country hiring now? I don t care about salaries, just a good place to live. |

rumouroid,
I guess my wife wish I got that money, not me, I just want to enjoy life. I am sorry for her, my salary is much lower. :{ If you only want money, better try to become a big manager, ( 2 million pounds is good for u?).:ok: What about air traffic controllers proffesion? What are the legal implications ( rights and responabilities ) of our licenses? Do we have to asume the personal responsability of working in not good aeronautical medical conditions if managers and companies push too hard in order to achieve objectives ? What about what our license implies? It s not a matter of money, it s our proffesion ( we love it, do we? ) and our rights and responsabilities with our license. |
Not all Supervisers are tw@ts There are some good guys in positions too.
However,they do say sh!te floats!! |
You can come and be Blue Watch (AC) watch supervisor at London if you like. Apparently they're setting the bar pretty low... :E
