listen to ATC/Pilote conversation in your FM radio
Take an old AM/FM transistor radio and make a quick modification so it picks up Air Traffic Control, Air Shows and other Civil Aviation Band transmissions. Amazing!

You have as-build drawings :ok:

I don't know the letter of the law, but modification of existing equipment to receive a frequency it wasn't designed to receive may be illegal in the UK, one of the reasons being the radio may not be designed to shield involuntary radio emissions which may interfere with either the frequency being listened to or any frequency on a similar harmonic.

What a stupid thing this is. Go buy an air-band receiver if you're that desperate to listen into people doing their job. |
Cambioso... Oh yes, out with the steam-driven soldering iron!!!
Take care Jez.... |
FWIW, Jim Creegan, during his time with Eurocontrol, spent several months in a Belgian prison accused of spying for the Russians.
Part of the evidence against him was a staatement by an expert witness that his airband radio "could" be converted to a SW transmitter and send details of military movements back to Russia |
some would say shame it wasnt longer ;)!!!
