HD,
When I was at EGPX, there was an article on the internal intranet, written by some chump down at HQ, about ways to "incentivise our controllers"......A phrase he used 3 times in one paragraph. I made a screen-shot of the article somewhere.

Hahahaha. I think they were taught particular phrases to use, which were double dutch to me. E.g "Investigating the scenario", "Touching base", "Singing from the same hymn sheet". Etc, etc. AND they got bonuses!

It started at 'CC in the 1990s with one particular chap who got promoted quite young. He produced an 'internal memo' which mentioned a 'heads-up' and a 'final walk-through', which caused great amusement.
This was was surpassed in the mid-2000s by a gentleman who arrived from London, who sent out an email that hardly any of us could understand.

We were just simple folk, raised on MATS 1 and 2.

God... if only they knew.

I'm still struggling with the term 'business trajectory', which was in a Single European Skies Flexible Use of Airspace document a few years ago. I think it means route, but I is only a ATCO....

Long after my time, Keith, but I'm sure you did a better job than many I could name!
