Sqn Ldr Matt Sills ....aka MATZ....RIP
Sqn Ldr Matt Sills was sadly killed in a road traffic accident on Monday. A frequent contributor to the PPRuNe world as MATZ, his well informed and pithy rants about all and sundry will be missed. He was and will always be remembered as one of the true characters in the ATC Branch bringing joy and humour to all who came into contact with him.
I have details of the funeral etc as the signal is slowly being sorted by the System - PM me if you need the information. There are angels on the streets of heaven with tears in their eyes today. Matt will be missed - he was one of Us. RIP MATZ |
Not aware if we met, but God Bless you MATZ. You obviously had a significant effect on people and it's tragic that you and your like are slowly disappearing from the scene.

Very sad.
from a fellow biker and RAF colleague. RIP |
Gone but never forgotten
I was never a close friend of Matt, but our path crossed on many occasions on courses at Shawbury and Boulmer etc. He was always up for a beer, a great laugh and general nutter. Always a fun guy to be around and have around. A sad loss mate; keep your eye on the rest of us:ok:

I was deeply saddened to learn that Matt has gone from us. My thoughts and prayers go to his family and colleagues.
Matt was a great guy. Never a dull moment with him - as mad as a box of frogs and a good friend to have around in a crisis. He will be greatly missed. Journey on mate. |
RIP
You will be missed |
Very sad news
Is this the MATZ that was an ATCO at Gutersloh when the AAC was there? If so, I was one of the civvies working there in the tower. Remember our ski trip to ST Anton. Very sad loss and condolences to his family.

Yep, that's the one.
|
I'm pretty sure he had a Suzuki TL1000S at Gutersloh. I was a lowly Jnr Tech then, and he was always Matt regardless where we were, he was a gentleman.
Rest in Peace |
