Gatwick listening watch squawk?

There has been a 'hot news' item (cooled down substantially by now, I'd imagine) for quite a while now on the flyontrack website (http://www.flyontrack.co.uk) saying that Thames/Gatwick are due to get a listening watch squawk.

Anyone know when this is going to happen; or has it been put on the back burner now that there is a LARS service available all around the KK zone?

Paul.

Is a "listening watch" squawk the same as a generic squawk for those receiving a FIS?

I'm assuming that you mean something similar to the 7366 squawk that Manchester use?

AIC out soon regarding the Gatwick/London City trial.

1261 is right (also at EGGW/EGSS)

Is 1261 the designated squawk? Coincidence or visual reminder of a certain form number?

JustaFew - I think vectorline was referring to the post by forum member "1261"... not alluding to the squawk!!

I should think they aren't using the squawk 1261 seeing as it is one allocated for Channel Island domestic flights and would cause a whole load of issues....
