After completing the whole training, apart from the licensing do we get any other qualification like a diploma or certificate?

thinking of using it for exemptions towards a post graduate degree.

any idea?

In the RAAF, after completing a Basic Course (ADI) you were issued with a Diploma of Aviation and after completing the Approach course you were issued with an Advanced Diploma of Aviation. These were NVQ approved / recognised in Oz. Not sure of their value in Oz but in middle Europe the Dip Av on my door name tag is a curiosity for most and far more interesting a discussion point that the BSC advertised next door!!

You get a diploma of aviation (ATC), but I'm not sure if that's at the end of the academy training, or when you get licenced. I have a feeling it's when you get licenced.

Licenced. You wont get any credit to anything from any institution in Australia.

Online Assessment

Hey guys, apologies if this has been covered somewhere in the last 100 pages of this threat, but I have made it to the second stage, online testing! :8 Any tips for me guys? How does it work?

stevep64 4th Jun 2012 07:28

Harry,
Most of what you want is here http://www.pprune.org/atc-issues/311...ml#post7179166
It's the FAQ that Will created recently.

Online assessment

YAY! so that means it's about 3-4 weeks wait from initial application to online testing.. Fingers crossed I get my email in about 2-3 weeks then :) Good luck with the tests :)

harrythepigeon 4th Jun 2012 11:11

Thanks for the link Steve, any idea if the online testing is timed?

Harry, each module has a practice element before you begin the actual timed test so you can practice as much as you like to become comfortable with the structure of the assessment.

I dont think the practice questions are timed though..

thanks for the tips, i just practiced some online verbel reasoning tests, found some of them fairly difficult!

I Will do the tests tomorrow!

online tests

How much time do you have to do the online tests? I mean is there a deadline to take them? Do they give you something like 5 days from the date of the email?

CanuckInOz 5th Jun 2012 09:15

Canadiangal,

When you receive the email asking you to do the online assessment, it also contains a due date to perform them.

canadiangal75 5th Jun 2012 09:58

Thanks for the info Canuck.. Hey by the way, congrats on getting on the tower course... I'm so jealous.. I hope they don't have a max quota on Canadians they allow in :) I would do enroute or tower, but I think I'd have a better chance at success in a tower due to my past experience...

CanuckInOz 7th Jun 2012 09:47

Haha thanks! As long as you have permanent res and pass the assessments, I'm sure ASA would be happy to have another Canadian on board!

Good luck on your tests!

harrythepigeon 8th Jun 2012 15:55

so just did the online tests today, they were a bit trickier than i thought they would be! talk about working under pressure!

V11 11th Jun 2012 01:52

Hey Harry (the pigeon). All the best with your online test results! I understand patience is key. It's been 3 months since I put my application in. When did you put yours in?

Anyone else experienced this length of wait from app to online test? V(11)

canadiangal75 11th Jun 2012 04:08

wow V11, that's a really long time. It seems like it takes about 3-4 weeks normally to get the invite for the online tests. I applied 2 weeks ago and I am waiting now. Did you receive a confirmation email from ASA saying your application was received? Did you log in on the ASA website and check to see the status of your application? Maybe there was a glitch and your application wasn't actually submitted?

Blackgoat 12th Jun 2012 01:58

It took me 5 weeks from putting in the application and receiving an email requesting the online tests.

And you'll be doing the online tests again at the assessment, to see how you do it in a stressful situation. That said, all my course mates are so laid back, it's a wonder we stay awake in class :)
