Re the KPIs I, as ATC, can pretty well ensure not below 3,000ft till 10nm or not establishing inside 10nm.

Quite how I have total control over a vertical CDA profile and should therefore be measured against such a target I've never quite understood...

And, quite how they expect me to keep to the KPIs on easterlies when the measured period runs up to 7am, but I'm expected to TEAM between 6am and 7am to maximise the landing rate... oh how that makes me laugh.

Medway Control,

Unfortunately, my experience is not of receiving suficient advance notification of the short-cut into Luton. We of course make it work but it goes from a descent in accordance with the STAR profile quickly to a descent aiming for a level downwind that we think will work only to find that we are either pulled tight when we are high or extended when we are low - The Law of Sod!!

I think you hit the nail on the head when you mention the Easy boys and Luton - local knowledge helps a lot and thus people who may not be local and who may not visit as often as we would like, will probably not complete the perfect CDA.

Overall, however, I prefer the CDA that starts at my ideal TOD and ends at impact 300m after the threshold. Being able to use the aircraft again is a bonus :)

Regards,

DFC
