I think it is more of a light sabre than a wand.... feel the force

ayrprox 26th Aug 2007 17:35

Where do you stick it ?? lol
If only they came in red and green... you could reenact the fights in star wars

I e-mailed the seller to ask what it was used for, this is the response as e-mailed to me:

to guide aircraft down runways..and to marshel them ...after and befor take off

So now we know:ugh::ugh::ugh:

Canoehead 26th Aug 2007 20:53

I would like to order 1500 of them and start my own business. No, really.

ayrprox 26th Aug 2007 21:20

These are no use, at least you could play ping pong with the bats if you were bored!!!

This is just another case of 'I'll use eBay to make money with stuff that I don't even know about' some people...

Useful for finding restrooms and canteens in low lighting, ops room environments.

Sorry got to be said.
Canoehead may have the answer.
Could the intention be to use them on airways, you know put ATCO's on top of tall towers at strategic points using semaphore to co-ordinate (aldis at night) and using the "light sabres" to direct the passing traffic.
There's some nice big windmills appeared near DCS would fit the bill

ducks & legs it

I dropped a note to the vendor and he/she agreed to insert an appropriate note. When I worked at Kidlington my AME noticed my hearing loss (caused by shooting when I was an ATC erk) and he said: "It's to be expected... out there waving those bats around close to aircraft". Now if an AME thinks ATCOs do that we can't really blame a vendor on Ebay.

From ebay on 27-Aug-07 at 06:17:44 BST, seller added the following information:

please note...this is used by ground crew to marshell aircraft and that sort of thing...i have been informed by people who are more clued up then me ....cheers...thanks to all who pointed this out to me

Sorry Jer

I thought I heard you say something but it was muffled by the constant influx of pies to gob.

It is nice that I never post on here but you still remember. Must really fly by in Winnipeg.

Mine's 12 inches but I don't use it as a rule.
