Hi!

I just read through some of the post in the forum from past year, regarding the tests... I think you can find them as well. These tests aren't related with knowledge, rather your abilities. So theres no way to prepare correctly.

When do you have to go?

Ive been noticed today, will be going on may 23th-

Hy ... I am Alex from Romania... I am going on the 14th of May. My test starts on the 15th. I am scared, because I am only a high school senior, I don't have specialized training in this type of things and I really don't want to go there only as a tourist.

I know there is no way to prepare ... but there must be something I can bear in mind

I'm also going there on the 14th and my test starts on the 15th as well!! A bit scared due to intense competition but I'll try to enjoy my time there as much as I can!! Very pleased about Maastricht to "offer" the flight and hotel there, very professional!
I haven't heard from them since I got my "invitation" and that I confirmed I was coming, should I contact them again to check if they have arrange my hotel reservation or should I wait the last moment to receive any further instructions?
Anyway maybe I'll see you there Alex, how many people are taking part in each session approximately, anyone got an idea?

I will take the test on 21st of May. I wish both of you good luck.
thnx and see you again!

Ok, again... You guys cannot prepare for these tests. I know how you feel, I felt the same way when I was invited for my first phase selection. You can practice mental arithmetics, english (if it's not your first language) and pretty much that's it.
As for the rest I can only tell you to try to give the best you can. Have a good sleep before and, do it as your life would depend on it. (since it is, in a certain sense :) )

F-ROM: "should I contact them again"
You can contact the HR if you want, but if they don't tell you anything else you can expect everything arranged for the hotel. You just go to the Mercure, tell them who you are and they'll find you on the list. People working there are quite used to the guys coming for the selections of EC.
I don't actually know how many of you will be on the tests, but I would say you can expect 8-16 ppl each group (every day).

Good luck to you guys!

Jagohu, could you pass both two phases?
where are you know and although I am aware the FEAST consent, I will ask you about the English part.
what kind of questions does it include?

Jagohu 8th May 2007 19:54

zekiinmetu: yes I could.
I'm working here now in Maastricht. There are more exercises - you need to choose a word which is the closest in meaning to the one indicated, you need to demonstrate that you undestood the text you've read... Nothing "hardcore", like grammar, or anything like that, no worries :)

thanks Jagohu :)

HI all!

I'm taking the test on 21st May. I'm just doing some psychotechnical tests...I don't know if it will work but at least it's something :)

Esther.

Just to re-iterate what´s been said before, most of the tests are not of the type that you can train for. The exception IMO are the ones where you listen to english texts and are asked about content, replace specific words and remember numbers. The qualities that are tested here are not trainable per se, but if you have a hard time with the english language, well... So my recommendation is to read and above all, listen to english. Obviously this advice is mostly valid for non-english speakers.
