Calling all air traffic controllers
Where can I find information as to who can and can't fly in a class 'A' TMA in the UK?

Them ATCOS can't hear you on this freq - they are all on ATC Issues
|
Having an Instrument Rating might be a distinct advantage...

....and a serviceable Mode A & C transponder takes the guesswork out.
Like many questions - have a look at the AIP - it's online and free. |
and if its the LTMA and flying anything sizeable, you'll need a Mode S capable transponder which can do Enhanced Surveillance unless you blag a concession from the CAA......(like half the airlines seem to have:mad:   )

Thanks to all that replied.
However, after trawling through the AIP and ANO (let's face it - these documents need to be brought into the twentieth century i.e. being able to search for keywords or strings), I found the answer in black and white after a quick search on the net in the first few lines. http://toandfrom.org/lightaircraft/ukairspace.html Airspace in a nutshell! Nice and concise, in plain english and found in less time than it takes to turn the first page of the ANO. |

Not to be taken as an authority. I notice there are a couple of mistakes so be sure to take notice of the note! |
