ATC Question Regarding ATC initiated RTO
Forgive me for imposing but could someone give me the definative answer on when ATC can order a rolling aircraft to abandon its TakeOff and where the authority lies if a departing aircraft hears " XXX takeoff clearance withdrawn STOP".
ie. who has the hammer and does it differ in LVPs? Thanks GG |
The book says 'in certain circumstances' and where the aircraft is in 'serious and imminent danger'. Ultimately it is up to the pilot if he accepts the instruction as he may consider it more dangerous to try and stop than continue the take-off.
The appropriate words are 'Stop Immediately'. There's lots more in MATS Pt 1. |
