Estuary MATS
is it me?..........
I see the latest amendment 67 to the MATS Pt1 refers on sec 1 chap 8 pg 2 para 2.2.3 to:- CAS-T established outside of existing class A/B airspace,... has estuary grammar reached the hallowed ground of SRG? Surely we can do better? Or am I wrong? Tori :( :{ |
You are probably the only person who cares.

If it reaches Appendix E we ought to start worrying...

Aviation Grammar
I'm definitely with you Tori.
Poor grammar really annoys me. Sadly it is more and more prevalent in aviation. Badly conceived modern industry terms, which make no sense, also make me cringe. How many job descriptions these days include being responsible for 'safety oversight'? Collins Dictionary Oversight - failure to notice, mistake I'd rather be responsible for 'overseeing safety'. I await and expect howls of derision........... :{ |
I sometimes wonder why the word "competency" is used when what is meant is straightforward competence.
Just a thought. Maybe I'm just picky. Guga. |
Transportation annoys me - what's wrong with Transport?
Recommendated too (this is on a sign in the hotel in Nassau). Also obligated - obliged is so much better. It also really annoys me when people say "Pacific" instead of "Specific". My company nows calls our flying machines Airplanes instead of Aeroplanes. Its not right..... |
Its the apostrophe's in all the wrong place's wot get's me.
Then there's "secetry" and "a phenomena" which are also guaranteed to light my blue touchpaper. Coming back to the original, in Scotland there's an excellent word "outwith" which would have done the trick. NS |
