LTCC or Tower visit possibilities?

Hi all,

My name is Dominic Nortney, I am 16 years of age from Southend, Essex.

I currently control on VATSIM (wannabe place lol) at Heathrow. I have wanted to join NATS for many years. I have just done my GCSE's and I really would like to get an insight into the main goings on of LTCC or perhaps one of the tower's in the main London Airports.

Now by no means do I want to be taking liberties here or stepping over the line. But when I controlled Gatwick on VATSIM all the Gatwick controllers got a visit up the Gatwick tower but this was many years ago. Since I control Heathrow now and am getting ever closer to finalising my decisions that will shape my career.

Would anyone possibly be able to help or aid in a possible visit one day to LTCC at West Drayton or Heathrow perhaps.

Thanks

Could anyone help?

I can't help with Heathrow or TC but if you ever find youself in the North, put a post on here as you would be welcome to look round the tower and centre at Manchester - we have had quite a few potential applicants visit over the years

Thanks Jaye. I do photography up MAN sometimes so I may let you know cheers :0 I could always make the trip up with the parents. Since it would be special?

Could we maybe organise something? Or is not really possible?

I can't see why there should be a problem, as I said before we have had visits from potential applicants, flight crew, cabin crew,
flying clubs, RAF etc.

For the second interviews a visit to an ATC Unit is encouraged ( at least it was when I applied ). Manchester is a good unit for people to look round as you can see both the airport side and area. I need to check the exact procedure for visits given recent "events", but by all means leave a post or pm me with as much notice as you can.
