niknak 29th Jun 2005 23:24

.....and how do you suspend a runway?....

coolbeans 30th Jun 2005 09:31

:cool:

Standard Noise 30th Jun 2005 11:41

Suspended by the runways. Well I never!:ouch:

TrafficTraffic 30th Jun 2005 12:57

Dont be silly you guys - its obvious that this is to help Airbuses with climbing - they suspend the runway (using ropes as suggested) between two big trees or building (or in Aus between 2 Aussie rules Goal posts(at opp ends of the field of course)).

A spokeswoman for the airport said flight EZE1709 from Hamburg, Germany, landed at 1518 BST, two minutes ahead of its expected arrival time
That would really pull your pisser - you bust a gut trying to beat your schedule and then the airport goes and suspends the runway so you fall off it........

You misunderstand! The Runway was suspended without pay, and given an ASBO for allowing the aircraft to 'slip' off! :}

Unfortunately they were 6 hours late for the return flight ..................
