Britol International

Sorry to be a bother but wondering if anyone could tell me the runway length at Bristol. Is it still Lulsgate,or has that long gone.
Also,is there still a hump on the runway?
Is Servisair still the main handling agent?
Many thanks for any help, and apologies if I am on the wrong forum

Aussie Andy 3rd Mar 2005 14:41

Go to http://www.worldaerodata.com and enter Bristol.

Evil J 3rd Mar 2005 15:06

Thought it had been a while (at least a week!!) since anyone had a pop at Bristol...let the slagging off commence!!!:E

Standard Noise 3rd Mar 2005 16:31

In order - 2011m/Bristol International/yes, it was designed by a french chap with a back problem and a hatred of bells/yes, unfortunately.

Clear as mud?

EVIL J
Why am I Bristol bashing?
I live in Clifton, and have the highest regard for the airport
and want to support it in my book.
There must be something I am not aware of,otherwise you would not have replied in the way you did.
I only asked a question.
I helped setting up the only Bristol based airline, and with the stockmarket crash,we followed.
Paramount will return

Spitoon 3rd Mar 2005 19:48

I didn't think it was the stockmarket crash that did for Paramount. More to do with the MD or some similar level chappie who ran off with lots of money I seem to remember reading in the Daily Mail.

Seems I have hit a raw nerve somewhere,so have changed from
Bristol to Cardiff. An empty 757 arrives in the early evening, and then departs to Malaga the next morning on an ACMI basis for a charter airline suffering with a few tech problems.Aircraft arrives
and departs with no problem.
Only reason I asked who the handling agent is,if I was using their
real name, would have to get their permission to do so,and they have the right to see the necessary paragraphs prior to publication. This also applies to the airport director if using a real airport.
Just hope Cardiff are a little more friendly!!

Understand your first points, but lost at the end. There must be something I am missing

Spitton
It was the chairman, and he took my house and car with him!

Took a long time, but now understand your message
Many thanks.I can go to sleep now!!

Standard Noise 4th Mar 2005 09:30

Only too glad to be of help to someone who's not slagging us off.
It makes a change.

Evil J 4th Mar 2005 12:42

prb46 - you obviously misinterpreted the tongue in cheek nature of my comment. I was not suggesting that you or anyone was slagging off Bristol, merely that all the threads recently regarding Bristol has degenerated into them getting a load of stick.

brain fade 4th Mar 2005 18:18

prb46.

You can't blame the folk at Bristol for being a bit touchy, they've had to put up with a fair old bit of stick on these hallowed pages recently. They are a lovely bunch for sure and a pleasure to work with if a touch wordy!
Today at BRS. CAVOK and +5 celsius. BRS still in LVP's with "freezing rain warning current", "frost warning current" and "snow warning current". (titter!).

Standard. how do you spell "gurt lush"?;)

Cheers BF

Standard Noise 4th Mar 2005 18:39

brain fade 4th Mar 2005 21:27

Standard. speak English or I shall taunt you a second time, or even...... no that would be too much!
:p

Morelli, thats funny, could happen yet.

for info i'm told it should be 'Gurt lush my babber!'

Can this be true?

'Yokel warning current' :ok:

Standard Noise 5th Mar 2005 09:06

One of the advantages of being from Belfast, no one has ever accused me of being able to speak English. I shall not want to disappoint anybody by starting.:E

ATCO1987 9th Mar 2005 11:19

Hmm....Gert lush warning......that would be an interesting one!

Of course, you can buy T Shirts in town that say "Gert Lush" on them, I have one. Every Bristolian or Bristol resident should have one! Even you, Noisy!

Standard Noise 9th Mar 2005 11:49

Hang on a minute! I've thirty years of music to catch up on yet......

"I've got a brand new combine harvester.....";)

ATCO1987 9th Mar 2005 11:58

Standard Noise 9th Mar 2005 14:53

My fave is one I saw last week -

'One by one, the pixies steal my sanity', it reminds me of being at work.:}

Chitterling, chitterling, chitterling,
Chitterling is all I crave!;)

ATCO1987 9th Mar 2005 16:14
