Correct Reply???

hi, 2 question:

1) When flying VFR - what would be the correct reply to...

"MATZ penetration approved report entering the zone"?

and 2) How would you phrase a special VFR clearence?

for example would this be correct?

"Heathrow approach G-TDTD requesting SVFR clearence"?

Thanks

RHM

"G-TDTD, heathrow director, contact heathrow radar on 125.62!"

SVFR/Thames get involved with that kinda stuff

Hi RHM,

"Heathrow Radar this is GTDTD requesting SVFR clearance," would be fine.
Alternatively first establish communication, and then pass your request for a SVFR clearance in full.

Hi,
Re question 1, "Roger MATZ penetration approved, Wilco, G-TD" or even just "Roger, G-TD" would suffice.

Yeah,

Go for something that sounds like "Roger - Wilco G-TD"

While on the subject of RT, take a look at
PPrune Thread in Safety & CRM

There's also quite a bit of relevant advice about correct phraseology and read-backs here.

<you> "Thames Radar G-TDTD",

<AlanM> "G-TDTD, I'm sorry I am too busy with City inbounds (2 of 'em), remain outside of controlled airspace and freecall London Info 124.6"

Only joking!;) ;)

AlanM 1st Mar 2005 10:32

K-SIMM - THAT IS ABSOLUTE RUBBISH

I never allow more than one aircraft on my freq at any time.

Further to my earlier post.
Had a look in CAP413 and it says...

"Wilco, MATZ penetration approved G-TD"

For gawd's sake don't say Roger AND Wilco. Everyone will think you are a complete numpty.

LXGB got it on the money with his second attempt.

If you are going to fly in the MATZ, keep your eyes peeled outside the window, and fly where you are told to fly. Biggles will keep clear of where you are supposed to be, but if you decide to be somewhere else, you may get alarmed.
