New Waypoints/SID's at EGPF

Hello,

Who came up with the names of the new waypoints replacing the AC and GLG, I mean XEXUS and XETUN....come on ....and NORBO to the North of PF, what is that?!?!?

Surely something like WINOC for Lochwinnoch and DRUMM for Drumchapel for example could have worked better than these crappy names, whoever came up with those names needs shot.

And whats all this 4.9dme stuff, surely if you are gonna offer a turn you offer it a 5dme not 4.9!!

Oh and btw the SID's are far more difficult than they use to be, no doubt some bright spark has been bored of late and decided to take it upon himself to re-write the SID's!

If I am correct it is the name of a retired senior NATS staff member...ex Belfast Scatcc Glasgow ....et al

I whole heartedly agree about xexus and xetun  but we won't ever call them by their names!!!

NORBO is a point to the South of Glasgow (TRN R009 D17)

The new SIDs aren't that bad, the routes take you straight ahead to either 4.7 or 4.9 (we'll always tell you to route via 5 miles inbound) then turn to intercept a radial, can't be that hard surely??? They don't differ significantly from the old SIDs and the track miles to the relevant SID termination point are (apart from on DCS 6A) less than the previous SIDs, thereby saving you the pilot fuel by not having to fly that extra few miles.

The only less appealing thing from an ATC point of view is the early turns for prop departures to the NW, now no further west than to GOW 325 radial until passing 1500ft off 23 or not to turn until passing 1500ft off 05, so not quite as expeditious as before, especially when we get the mass of Loganair departures out to West every morning at 9am
