Been looking at FR24 on and off today. Obviously very quiet today except at EGPC. It looks like EGPC has saved some of the helicopter flights that may have gone further north. HIAL did say they had special procedures for EGPC. I have no problem with that, I just hope that they were not “bending” the rules :-)

Well Mr Inglis Lyon (read the article) above, get your facts straight, working-to-rule is what they are entitled to do.
There has been so much goodwill from the ATCO community, especially at airports over the years, that when they do exactly what they get paid for you notice the missing extras they often throw in for free.

Of note that the next strikes are spilt over three consecutive days for different airports. The last strike closed all the airports for one day. This will spread the disruption over three days whilst only requiring ATCOs at each location to go on strike for one day.

Highlands and Islands Labour MSP Rhoda Grant meanwhile accused the SNP of being responsible for the ongoing dispute as it was the government that could make an increase pay offer.
“The offer made was not a permanent increase in salary, but a recruitment and retention allowance that could have been removed at any time as happened with Marine Scotland mariners,” she said.
“The Scottish Government must now allow HIAL to negotiate a deal the reflects what air traffic controllers earn elsewhere and bring this dispute to an end.”
Someone gets it!

Tricky situation. Any recent news?
Government owned company seeks equivalent pay increase compared to non-government owned companies providing the same service.
Is a double-digit percentage increase justifiable?

Nobody has actually demanded a double digit pay increase.
