GAL ANS

Good evening everyone. Does anyone work for GAL ANS? If so can you tell me how are they as a company in general? They require that I attend an APC but want me to pay my own way. That seems like a big risk for me because it costs a lot for me to go to the UAE and i am not 100% sure of what to expect. This is for a position in RAK. Does anyone presently work there? Thanks for any feedback. I really appreciate it.

The people in Dubai don't like the Flintstones. The people in Abu Dhabi do.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program....

Hi good day. I am presently going through the recruiting process with GAL ANS and they require that i come do the APC also but at my own expense. This is for RAK airport If you don't mind sharing, i would like to know:

-Did you do the APC at your expense also? ie airfare + accommodation

- Did you take up the job at RAK?

-If so, what is it like working there?

-if not, why not?

-How did the contract negotiation go?

Thanks you for you help....

Regards

Is this for everywhere in the UAE? I am trying to find out about Ras Al Khaimah specifically. Thanks for your help.

hey! there. I had the information that all applicant for GAL asked for a APC, will assume the fees on their own. it's a kind of procedure followed by the compagny.
When did you had the phone interview?

all right ! well if i were u i would venture to go on scene for assessment. The Apc would last approximately 3 days according to rumors. Did they mention the time of the apc? or it’s on your convenience?

Hi!

Could someone please share any info regarding Sharjah TWR (working conditions, moral, shifts, and any other useful info)? There is very little and limited info about Sharjah that I could find online. This week I 'll have 1st phone interview with Serco for Sharjah position. Also if someone could shed some light on these interviews, APC and process prior signing the contract..

Thank you!

Hi !

I heard almost all of the management has changed in Abu recently. Does that means that the working conditions improve ? They still look seriously understaffed at APP and TWR.
Thank you !

Is DANS really hiring unexperienced ATCOs for DWC Approach? I worked in ACC for 2 years and just got my TWR rating, however I don't have the minimum experience required in any of them to apply. I've just recently got back to ATC after a 7 year gap. Saw this position open and wasn't sure it's for real. They're not asking for experience nor any English Proficiency levels, as long as you're fluent in written and spoken English. Hard to believe, but I'd love that to be real. For a long time these positions were for locals only.

I have applied to DANS and was not successful. I believe what they are looking at is a combination of your years experience and where you have worked i.e. busy airport, with other things such as ojti endorsements as assets. I have 8 yrs total experience (a mix of tower, approach and area with procedural and radar control but no ojti endorsement) and i got rejected several times by DANS and SERCO. I work in the Caribbean in TTZP FIR. I gets no credit for this. So hope you have better luck.

Thank you for the insight! I've wanted to apply for an ATC job in the UAE for the longest time, I was living there for the past 6 years, but they had already started the Emiratization and wouldn't hire expats without experience. I even talked to GAL ANS about taking their course, but the person I spoke to guaranteed I wouldn't be hired anyway. I never thought I'd be able to control again, and then recently an opportunity came up in Brazil so I jumped right on it and am here now. My ultimate goal is to come back to the UAE, but 90% os the airports here in Brazil are in the hands of the military, especially the busiest ones, so am not sure I'll be able to get the experience required anytime soon. There's a plan to hand Air Traffic Control to civilians, but that will take some time. And when I saw this position open with no experience nor English Level 4 as requirements, it was hard to believe it was correct, considering what has been requested for the past years. Guess it will take me longer than I thought, but I'll stay on that track and get the qualifications needed with time. ATC is my passion, it's one of the things I am naturally good at. Sadly it's really underappreciated in my country.

So it looks like DWC only had less than 30,000 aircraft movements in 2018 according to DubaiAirports

~82 movements per day is below a lot of untowered airports in the US, is this one of the cushiest jobs in the area? How much less money do they make than the DXB guys moving 13.6x the a/c each day?

Guys,
I am thinking of moving to another airport. Is there anyone who can tell me more about the contracts Serco is offering now (DXB or DWC). I'm thinking of moving with my whole family, so every bit of info counts. PM if you wish.

Dubai tower 2021

I see Dubai are looking for tower controllers. I'm just wondering if anyone has any info on what sort of packages serco are offering (salary, housing expenses)? I'm thinking of moving over in the new year. Is Dubai tower a good place to work? What is the shift pattern like? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated 😊
