I believe that the most recent "bail out" from HMG more than covers this. Maybe HMG's arms were twisted when it emerged that some of the dubious practices in the run up to PPP were about to be disclosed by order of the judge..... hey presto another lot of cash is magically available

As it happens the sums of money involved here are nowhere near what has been handed out to RailTrack and it's predecessor over the years. Don't be fooled, £30m + £50m (from HMG) and the same from outside sources is peanuts by comparison.

So, as I read it, there's stacks of cash to cover management/government actions when they get it wrong but absolutely zip to cover ours when we get it right (hopefully).
