ATCO at Sharjah Airport, UAE

Hey all!

I recently saw an advert on the Serco website for an ATCO at Sharjah Airport in the UAE. Has anyone here ever worked there, or know anyone who has?
Any ideas on what the airport and tower are like, how many staff there are, what the roster is like and what terms and conditions are involved??

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide!

What's happening in Sharjah

Any updates on the situation in Sharjah?
Has the contract been awarded yet?

The Sharjah DCA has not awarded the contract yet. Safe sky's in contact with a few local controllers, but contract will likely go to GAL or Serco.

Rumour mongerer

I remember you papa mike… you’re the chap who confidently said in another related thread:

“Sharjah story

The Sharjah Airport authority will announce on the first of October who will have the contract from 2014. The bidders are GAL and Serco. “

You were wrong on both counts then so I am not giving your latest missive much credence especially as you probably work for Serco.

Pretty sure Papa Mike is not to blame for misinformation. It's just the way things work in the ME. People give you a deadline to keep you of their back but never really thought about making a decision by then, I reckon.
Wait and be patient - that's all you can do, but I am keen to find out too.

Also if anyone has any information on the current "SERCO package' for Sharjah I would like to know what it is like, thanks.
