I've just listened to a recording of USA ATC lasting 5:15 (my ears are hurting), the best pilot read backs I heard (relative to the read back requirements in the UK) were from the Air China pilot, why does your heart go out to me?

I thought the Air China Pilot was pretty good.Certainly better than some pilots in the UK.How's your Mandarin or Cantonese.

I've had to work with WAAAY worse than that. At least this pilot got the readbacks pretty much right and did everything correctly. Sure his english could be a little bit better but still...good on him!

I would much rather be on frequency with a pilot like the Air China guy who used correct phraseology (for the most part) and Readback correctly than be on frequency with one of the "ok down to 2, then shoot twenty eight loc" jocks.

Better an immediate response in chinglish than four calls to a perfect accent "was that for us?" anyday

I'm missing the 'funny'.

All calls answered accurately and promptly.

Can you expand further as to why this is topic worthy?

'Dear Ppprune, today I went to work and things were normal' woud have worked well.

I guess this video just goes to show how difficult it must be for a native Chinese-speaker to master English pronunciation. I've heard much worse readbacks from Western pilots.
