NATS College
Hii everyone..
I passed the first 2 stages of the NATS trainee application (by the 2 stages I mean, my application and the online test).. They have offered me a place for stage 3 in Glasgow.
The above statement is not what I am starting this thread about..
I am just wondering, because it's a college, does that mean its Monday-Friday study, and you get end of term holidays e.g. Christmas holidays, Easter holidays etc for 2 weeks (like a normal standard college)??

Just because it's called the College of Air Traffic control please don't expect it to be like a college.
It is true that the day revolves around class work and radar but it is more like a professional training centre. There are no teachers there just very qualified controllers that are qualified to instruct. They will be straight with you and won’t mince their words.
The are no term times and the only break you can guarantee is about a week over xmas.
Course lengths vary depending on what your put on i.e., area, approach etc. You normally get some time off between courses but that will be explained to you when you join the ‘college’.
It is Monday to Friday but you will be expected (and will need to) study in the evenings and weekends to pass.

do NATS provide accom too
I am not involved in that area of aviation, but just curious.
The BBC had a training centre in Evesham, with all facilities on site, except the clob/bar which was in the town.
I assume a similar facility, just never heard of GLA as a NATS TC.

The stage 3 in Glasgow refers to entrance selection tests and interviews, the college itself is in Bournemouth (for the time being). No accom. provided, most studes stay in B&Bs for the course.

Don't count on having Christmas and Easter hols - the course before me was still in the sim on Christmas eve and area course bods were back between christmas and new year - Easter, bank holidays only if you are lucky!!!
