Air Traffic Controller - job prospects in Australia
Hello guys,
I am an ATC overseas with 5 years of experience. I was wondering if I would be able to transfer my skills to Australia in the same field without a glitch? Or do I have to undergo further training to qualify as a controller in Australia? I have permanent residency here now. I am ready to make a big leap. If anyone can provide helpful info on this, I would appreciate it very much. Cheers.

Muca,
You will undergo a training needs analysis (TNA) to assess the gaps in what you did and what we do, and probably have to do a short conversion course at Melbourne. You might have to do the full ab initio course. If you're from a country where English isn't the main language, you'll have to do the ICAO English language assessment.
Airservices has a program to recruit 80 controllers for the next 5 years or so due to the ageing workforce.
You'd be mad not to apply.
