MP3 recording of Air Traffic

This is a sad request.

I down loaded a MP3 recording on to my phone of Manchester Area Air Traffic; it was about a minuet long. When I was at work (I work at a Airport) I changed the ring tone to this so if I were called the ringing would not be disruptive and would blend in with the background radios, ATC and Ops radio, and not disrupted my dealing with Customers too much.

The problem is I phone throw a wobbly and I had to restore the factory setting before I could recover the recording. I don’t know where I got it the recording from off the Internet; dose anyone know where I could get this MP3 recording or another recording of ATC in the UK?

No I am not a Spotter before anyone asks!!

Er, trying not to be picky, but is that sensible and/or legal?

It is illegal to monitor ATC and aircraft transmissions in the UK so you probably won't have much luck.

'Not disrupted my dealing with customers too much.'

Hmm.....

How about giving your full attention to your customers, whilst your phone is switched off, and then turning it on at the end of your shift?

Just a thought.

Quite right. Mind you I see on Youtube a posting of an ":emergency" into BFS with full voice video and some fancy radar device. No one asked the guys on my watch if they wanted to be part of the experience. Don't see the CAA doing much(nor OFCOM or whoever HD bangs on about) so good luck with it!

it was about a minuet long
which to many would be several minutes too long

From Wiki -
A minuet, also spelled menuet, is a social dance of French origin for two persons, usually in 3/4 time
.

There are a number of ATC clips on youtube. Just google the mp3 conversion software applicable to your browser and download a new clip. Who knows, you might even find your old clip again.
If you're using firefox, try https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/11047
