Lapland Routings Concorde

Hello,

Wondered if anyone could possiby provide me with some Information on the routings of the Concorde, considering this would be a huge ATC issue, the flights were taken supersonic and I understand this was over the north sea?

Any chance of the routings/FPLs for these flights? BA9032C outbound, BA9033C back to LHR. EGLL-EFRO-EGLL

I did look at that, but nothing in terms of flying to EFRO. Zilch.

I've heard they flew supersonic over the Atlantic to Tromso, and from there a rather direct route to EFRO (after slowing down). Haven't got further details, sorry.

I can remember working a couple of these flights in the early 90s. From memory Concorde departed EGLL then BPK - CLN - GABAD ( think that was the name but these have all changed over the years ). It then turned over the north sea on UA37 towards DANDI and once steady on that route accelerated supersonic. I cannot recall what the flight planned level was I am afraid.

It did not really cause any issues in the ATC sense as once going supersonic it climbed well above the normal levels on the north sea routes. Please excuse the reporting point names as they are probably historical now and old charts would need to be consulted to see the exact route mentioned.

Mirach Killar is correct. IIRC the plan had them turn slightly to the right after Gabad on a direct track through the Dutch Airspace. A pity nobody thought to co-ordinate it with Dutch Mil.

There were also a number of flights by the French, turning NE after HELEN. The FPL called for acceleration/climb 20n.m. after the coast. Pity nobody had thought to brief us that turning was not an option during part of this phase, and as there was a considerable amount of traffic over the N.Sea, both civil and military, the climb was unfortunately delayed until we could find a gap. I don't think we were on the crew's Christmas card list that year

Sorry to bump an old thread -

So did this charter fly out supersonic over Sweden, and up the Gulf of Bothnia? Or did they route north of Norway and drop down into Rovaniemi from the north?

I'd have thought they were more likely to fly a more direct route over Sweden - if they could get permission? If they went up to DANDI (5521N 00500E) UA37 (now M604) to DANKO, it would suggest that.
