ENR 84

Is there anyone on this course (or any other course) that would be intereseted in setting up a share house? I'm looking to find somewhere close to the airport.

New_atc,

I'm on this course too, and I'm still trying to sort out accommodation; so I'll send you a PM.

And I have heard that there may be another ad later in the year for experienced ATCs (to capture those who missed the cut-off last time).

Finished my verification tests, diagramatic and spatial awareness tests for the international experienced air traffic control positions. My brain decided to take a nap during the diagramatic reasoning. Only answered 33 out of 40. Wrong time to bail out on me. Oh well just have to hope, wait and see. Good luck to all the other candidates

Pauloswindon: I wouldn't worry too much, I only answered about that many in the time allotted, I think it matters more that you get the ones you answer correct than how many (unless of course someone answers like 5, they might have a problem with that :P)

Smart Casual??

I'm going in for my assessment next week. According to the email I received, dress code is smart casual. I find it strange to go to an interview in anything other than a suit, but obviously this isn't what they want. What sort of attire did people find to be go on the day?

For smart casual, I would go with the crisp, pressed long-sleeved shirt coupled with black pants and leather loafers (or other "business shoes").

Would they actually fault you for wearing a suit? I doubt it.

Re: Dress Code.

Elias.K

I went to the assessment day last week in Brisbane. most of us wore slacks or something similar and open neck dress shirts.

Cheers D.

Hi, sorry if it comes across as a bit lazy (don't fancy reading back through all the posts), but when was the last closing date for international experienced ATCO positions?

Cheers!

Edit: Actually I´ve just gone back a page and saw Aril 30th...but was that available to non-Aus/NZ residents??

Pedypie, I'm guessing we are worrying more about this than what it's worth. I think Tequila is on the money.

My main concern till the day is to work on some sample tests online to practice diagrammatic and special reasoning problems along with all the stuff they tested us on in the online test as we will be re-tested on this. As has been said in here often, you really can't do much to prepare, but practicing these things will help me walk into the day more relaxed knowing I have done what I can.

DD70, thanks for the heads up and good luck.. Any idea when you will hear on how you went? How does the testing on the day compare to the online test?

Hi Mav,

When did you go for your Assessment? I had mine yesterday, they were very vague on how long it takes to find out. 2 weeks was briefly mentioned as a very rough guide.

Hi Aratck

Hey! I applied in November 2012. I made it through the initial paperwork application, then some online testing (aptitude and easy psycho test). After that, I had a panel interview where they had called me over here in the USA. After that, they had me go to a testing center to take the same tests basically I took the first time. And lastly, last night, one of my references received a phone call asking about me. He said he spoke highly of me (and yes, it was true! lol). Hope that helps. If you have questions, I will be more than happy to try to help since I am going through the process now. Best of luck!
