They updated the application process earlier this year and extended the time between reapplications to 24months.

And you've never been able to reapply and continue from where you failed. You always start from the beginning.

waiting for stage 3

Reply to Jason.

I'm in that boat with you Jason. Completed stage 2 in June and passed, I was the only one that made it through from the morning to the afternoon!!

I emailed NATS at the beginning of September asking for an update and was told that the final interview dates were still being arranged.

I visited Bristol Tower Control today and was so pumped up afterwards that after I got home I emailed NATS again for an update.

If you hear anything post here or PM me. I will let you know what NATS response is to my email.

Hi TriniDan, congrats on passing stage 2. I'm waiting for my date for stage 2. How was it? What was involved in the testing? How did you prepare?

update

Hi Guys,

I emailed NATS about the final stage interview and was told there are currently no stage three assessments being scheduled. They are waiting to hear from the college on the number of trainees needed for the next course. I assume this will also affect stage 2 and 1 applicants.

ewart, I'm not going to give you any specific details, just read the document you were sent. To pass the spatial awareness, logic reasoning etc you can't really prepare for. You can either do it or you can't. There is some English and Maths so make sure you are capable with both of those and play the games on NATS website.

I will tell you this, there are a LOT of tests and it is a very intense morning. Be calm and remember the aim is to be accurate not necessarily to complete the test because you just don't have the time.

One more bit of advice for stage those waiting for stage 2...

Don't drink too much in the morning. Once your tests at 9 start you're not allowed to leave the room for a bathroom break until lunch. And needing to pee can be really distracting

tip for the really dedicated - take in empty water bottles in case of peepee emergency.

Not saying that's how I got in...but I did get in...

I applied today and took the tests and received my e-mail stating I had passed the Stage 1 assessments It doesn't mention a date or hint of when upcoming Stage 2 days will be, which is different to some people here mentioning something about September? I guess it might be a while before a date is set. Excited though, although slightly scared after reading the infographic stating only approx 20 from 3000 completely pass!

Control Tower Visits

Hi All,

I am currently at stage 3 of the application process. I have been advised that it would be good to visit a control tower before attending the next stage of the process. Would anyone be able to help as to the best ways of making this happen?

There appears to be no contact details on the NATS site for any of the individual control towers. I would be more than happy to visit any of the airports in the south of England or the Midlands. If anyone could steer me in the right direction that would be excellent. Please feel free to reply on this thread or send a private message.

Thanks in advance

telephone numbers for aerodromes can be found in the AIS, on NATS' website. It's not easy to find them....but if you want the job...

Emily, i'm in the same boat. Passed Stage 1 at end of August and was told that dates for Stage 2 would be in September. Not heard anything since and as the email states not to contact, then its just the waiting game right now!

Anyone else heard anything?

Not heard a thing here. Strangely reassuring to know that I'm not alone in being in the dark.

Hi guys!!

Congrats to those who have made it through to Stage 2!! I hope you hear about your assessment date soon!

Having been unsuccessful with after my Stage 1 tests last year I have re-applied and passed the initial basic filter this year.

I have noted that the Stage 1 tests that I previously sat in the NATS college down in Fareham last year are now being done online so I am going to do a little more practice now and then hopefully attempt the test tomorrow.

So far it is looking good because I have got 100% in all the spatial and diagram reasoning practice tests that I've have done online (and I know that's where I failed last year)

Fingers crossed for myself and good luck to everyone else!!

I did read that the gap between applications has risen to 24 months however I am unsure as to when this change was implimented.

I'm unsure if this change includes anybody who has previously applied and been unseccessful BEOFRE or AFTER the date which the change was implimented.

However it did ask me to state if I had previously applied for the TATC position at NATS during the online registration process and it also asked me to state when this was and how far I got so I am hoping that being accepted to take the online tests is a good sign!!

...Although I could fail them anyway still so i'm not panicking yet!
