I got a reply via their facebook page, they have advised me that I will receive the results within 30 working days. I've asked them what will happen if this pushes me past the 6th of September. I'll let you know the outcome. I think the diagrammatic may actually be sequential patterns. When I did my army aptitude tests, the diagrammatic reasoning was all sequences, very tough ones though. I bought a good book from amazon, gives you a good insight and trains you what to look for. Good luck

I was meaning is the diagrammatic stuff still included in stage 1 tests, as it appears to have changed quite a bit recently, and recent posts have been quite vague (some mention of finding a shape that stands out, whatever that means, and working out what the command is in a sequence - a sort of reverse diagrammatic test, I suppose?)
I saw the comments on the fb page but still seems rather vague. Guess we'll just have to keep checking our emails and hope they give us *some* time to prepare!

Facebook Page for the next course

Greetings everyone,

The facebook page for those waiting for the January course has been created, with a few of us already there waiting for the big day. For those of you who already have their offer of employment (after stage 3), feel free to join.

For privacy reasons (some of us can't hand our notice periods this far in advance) the group is not visible unless you are a member (if you join, only the members will know), so please PM me your facebook page and I'll join you. Anyone has permission to add other members, so feel free once you are there to join those you know who also got past stage 3.

Good luck to those doing the stages now! See you all soon.

Greetings everyone,

I am through the first two online tests, and am now waiting for the mail about the assessment day.
I have a question about the paper test, and other non-standard FEAST tests: will there be heavy numerical reasoning exercises? As a student of linguistics, I would need to brush up on my Math skills in that case.
Also, in light of some political debates regarding non-UK citizens taking UK jobs, do you think NATS actively prefers local candidates, even if it's not PC to say so?
I'll have considerable travel expenses, and I'm trying to gauge whether I have a realistic chance or the money is just going down the drain.

Thank you in advance, and good luck to everyone!

NATS have plenty of foreign employees, myself included, so being foreign does not count against you.

Current closure of NATS recruitment

Hey all, just wondering if anyone knows the status of th ATC recruitment at the moment. The message on the site is:

Recruitment for Trainee Air Traffic Controllers is on hold whilst we upgrade our assessment process. You can register your interest below and we will contact you to make an application in the future.

I know it says closed for upgrade, but does anyone know if this is a longterm thing?

Thanks very much

Waiting for stage 3?

Good morning all, I was wondering if anyone could help me a little....

I passed stage 2 back at the end of June, and was told that stage 3 would not take place until september. It was also made pretty clear in the email that I was not to contact NATS in the meantime. However I still haven't heard and September is rapidly running out...

When I applied the indication was that the course would start in October, but that seems pretty unlikely.

I assume stage 3 is being held up because of the changes? Anyone else in the same boat?

Thanks,

Jason.

Hello everybody, new member here!
I have been reading this thread and have ready back over the past couple of months and it seems that the NATS assessment has changed recently.
I have passed stage 1 and am awaiting an assessment date, I recieved the e-mail on the 15th August and the e-mail said that there were going to be dates in September. Is this a usual length of time to wait for a response?
Thank you for any info.

Cheers!

Talking Also Still Waiting

Hey Guys - Bob and Emily in particular!

I too am still waiting for this elusive September assessment date. I received my email on the 1st July saying the dates would be in September, so hopefully we will all hear something soon.

With regards to the January start date, I doubt that any of us will be slotted into that intake, unless of course they fast track the remaining portion of our application process.

Hope to be lucky enough to meet you at said assessment date sometime in the future!!!

Okay, apparently the assessment process has been upgraded by NATS, the notice is gone.

Cool Test materials.

For stage 2 of the assessment tests, do NATS still provide candidates with the same "test_materials.doc"? Or since they have upgraded the application process, is there another updated document in which candidates have to study?

Cheerio.

Have you passed Stage 1 already? Nice . Did you find it difficult? I'm going to take it some time next week as well as I wouldn't want a potential bad news to ruin my trip

reapplying for 2nd attempt

Hello all, I sat my Stage 1 (the old process) roughly this time last year in Southampton. I am thinking of reapplying for my 2nd attempt at it all. Now, from what I understood, you could just apply again to carry on at the stage you failed last time around, however, I've seen the process has completed changed with stage 1 now being done online.

Does this now mean I should just completely apply from scratch again? I believe they'd know somehow it is my 2nd attempt (with 3 the max I believe).

You have to wait 24 months from the date you failed the previous attempt.

I've never heard you can start from the stage you failed at. From what I've read you start the process from the beginning.

Oh wow, I've always been convinced it was 12 months, (when) did they change the gap at some point?
