Good luck Schmizzles. Had stage 2 in Whitely last Friday - nervously checking email! Eeeek!

Hi,

Well done to everyone who passed their stage 1 and stage 2, good luck for other stages! I just wanted to know that whether we need to learn the ' seating details' precisely as written in the literature that NATS have provided or just have a rough idea about each?

@ Pinknails92 A rough idea should be enough. The questions about the 25 page document given during stage 1 all have multiple choice answers. As long as you recognise the answer when you see it you'll be fine. Good luck.

@ schmizzles I assume you already completed the bio-data personality questionnaire between stages 1 and 2 so I'm curious about this occupational personality questionnaire you got.
At least it's not a no. I'm expecting my failure notification any day now and after my dismal stage 2 performance I'd kill to be borderline.

@mrfrost - I wouldn't worry mate, there isn't much chance that you did poorer than me during stage 2......and I'm being very optimistic about the results-but expecting zilch. Best of luck to you though....here's hoping we find out on Friday as I really hate playing this waiting game lol.

All the best

Schmizzles,

This is a copy from the NATS careers website:

"If you were successful on assessment day two you'll be invited to complete an online occupational personality questionnaire"

Well done :-)

NATS Stage 1/2 Question

Hi guys,

I have my Stage 1 assessment centre at Prestwick on 20th May. I am not too worried about the spatial reasoning and diagramming part of the process (if I get that far) because I can't do much preparation for them.

I have learned pretty much the whole of the NATS booklet (with the exception of the first few pages - introduction etc.) and I was wondering do you actually need to know how many seats the different models of planes take and which airlines operate them etc? Also I have had no indication of what type of questions are going to be asked for the maths part of the test. Is it hard? I have done tests for graduate schemes in the past few months which I imagine are quite different to what I will experience next Friday. Are there any particular formulas which need to be learned? I would be grateful if someone could perhaps give me a sample of what might be asked for the maths bit

The wait is over

It seems they have started to send more emails out regarding the stage 2 results - I've got mine at least. Good luck to all the others that are waiting.

Robb - You need to have a general idea about the aircraft. If you cn learn all the seatings then great - you'll have a lot more to learn at the college. But if you can distinguish between large and small aircraft for long haul/short haul then you might be ok.

Regarding the maths its all about speed/distance/time. No formulas to learn but you need to be quick. There's a good test example on the RAF website thats mentioned a few pages back.

Please excuse the outburst chaps but... WOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Stage 2 complete, I've got to do my Occupational Personality test but I've already had my stage 3 invite.

Good luck to all those who were on my stage 2, great time had by all I think, made even better by a good result today!

Also:
Which reminds me, have you still got the special pen we needed? I can't find mine and I don't want to have to buy another one.

- the person who "outed" you
I have to say, I think I lost my NATS Recruitment Guarantee pen on the way out...

Good luck with your results mate.

Phil

Hi there Robbb123_123 (AKA Rob - if you don't mind),

Unfortunately we can't really give out samples. But the maths questions are fairly basic. Consider them to be.. approximately GCSE level. Speed is the key however. So whilst your maths from graduate schemes is almost certainly up to scratch, I would very much suggest you brush up on the old mental arithmetic and speed of mental calculation.

The better you know the ATC Motivation pamphlet the better off you will be. Although hopefully it will leave you pleasantly surprised by the difficulty of the paper. Better that than to be under-prepared.

If you're happy on cubes etc, then all I need to do is wish you the best of luck.

Phil

Hi Phil,

Well done to you!

Would you mind to let me know which days or month is available for stage 3?

Cheers,

Hey gazb,

I think we sat it on the same day (5th of May). Only just seen your pm now. I've had my results already (got it yesterday afternoon at the same time as PhilTheFamousReaper) so I wish you the best of luck with yours.

Sup Gaz?

To answer your question it seems that Philthereaper and Chocolatehobnob sat theirs on Wednesday the 4th and received their results on Thursday the 12th.
However schmizzles sat his/hers on Thursday the 5th and got his/her result on Monday the 9th.

By the way, congrats or commiserations to all those who've received their results.

Intelligenetics is the only other one to reveal their Stage 2 day (Friday 6th) but hasn't posted anything about a result yet.

You and I sat ours before all of these nice people ..... and if I don't get my result today I'm going to be a basket case all weekend .

Mr Frost81,

Still no sign of results - I'll let ye know when I get them! Good luck with the wait! Tis nerve racking to say the least! Thank God I can't check my email very often, because I'd be checking it every 2 seconds if I could!

Till the results - breathe easy!

MrFrost

I don't think you would want your results today with it been Friday 13th
anyway, I was just wondering what the D/S/T questions are like, I am confident with using speed, just not quite sure how to work out Distance and Time, I can do them but it takes me a while and I also struggle with long division, one more question, what is the best way to learn the cubes? I have purchased that online cube FEAST test thing, which is helping a bit but is there any other way that would also help me, sitting my stage 1 at the end of June

Hi mrfrost!

Hmm...that's a little random, but your totally right.....if I don't receive the results today....I'm not going to exactly have a relaxing weekend at all. Do you think the delay in our results has something to do with our technical issue during the tests?

No results today... (unless some sainted individual works overtime ).

For me this is worse than a failure notice.
The reason?
Because I noticed every last one of my mistakes right after I made them (and they were many). I know I've failed, I just need confirmation to put my mind at ease.

The problem I have now is that over the weekend, at some point, I'm going to convince myself that maybe, just maybe, I might have scraped a pass .

I can already feel my grip on reality slipping... ... I did fairly well on the Strip Display Management Test... ... maybe I do have a chance....

I've been feeling the exact same MrFrost....completely.

Seems like we have to wait till next week now....I still don't really understand why ours have taken longer.

Thanks for replying anyway
Till the results......
