Hello who else is going on Monday. haven't been so nervous in my life.
and can somebody tell me how to the diagramming test been looking at it for a week don't now how\ where to start.Thanks

Hello.....
It was me being abit dim!!! I had already printed it off. I thought it was another document. I hadn't seen yet!! Silly me!!!!
I am really nervous about Stage one on Monday. I have been flying for 4 years both fixed wing and helicopters but I realy realy want to get into Air Traffic. I have been doing lots of aptitude tests throught my flying courses. I have my fingers crossed that they are along the same lines!
But I am in a right tiz and realy nervous. The document with all the aircraft, seats, speeds e.t.c are we meant to know this off by heart?!
Also are there any maths questions?
Any help and advice would be hugely appreciated!!!!

Firstly - Calm Down!!! If you are that worked up you are never going to be able to concentrate on the day!
It seems like you are pretty well prepared, and having previous aviation knowledge is always useful. I would recommend learning as much of the document as you possible can, you never know what will crop up in the motivation paper, and if it doesn't, then you will know it for a later date!
I can't recall whether there were any calculations at stage 1 (anybody feel free to correct me!!!) but there is no harm is practising some s/d/t.
Just take the psychometric tests as they come, try and think clearly and work quickly AND accurately - there's no point rushing through and finshing them all if you get most of them wrong!
DON'T try to guess the answers to the personality questionaire - you will be caught out!!! Try to answer as truthfully as possible. I think in total, throughout the whole application process, you do 5 personality questionaires in various different formats and at different dates (try remembering all the answers to those!!!) AND you are likely be asked about your answers to them in your stage 3 interview should you get that far.
Take the opportunity to talk to the ATCO who is there to answer your questions. They don't bite....or so I'm told....!
And don't forget to enjoy yourself! I know its easy to say, but I have been there and I do know what it's like. Talk to the other candidates, not only will it help you to relax, but they may be able to help you out on some of that last minute aircraft recce....

I have a slightly strange question.
I have just filled in my expenses claim form from my stage 2 in Fareham, and was just wondering if there was any possibility that the amount claimed could have a detrimental effect on the application????
I am merely asking as it actually cost me quite a bit to get down for the interview, and it looks a bit cheeky trying to claim it all back, when I would have gladly paid double if it meant I got through.
Just a bit concerned about putting spanners in the works after getting this far!!

I think I have seen links to math equations to work on, but now I can't seem to find the page that it is on. Does anyone have a website to recommend to me to do time/speed/distance math questions? Thanks!

No, it makes no difference. If you are entitled to claim the sum, and have provided receipts as required, then that's it. Although you send the claim into HR, our Finance unit handle the claim, two completely separate parts of the company....

hey got my 1st stage tests on monday and i have been going through the shl tests online. My question is whether there will be any tests on calculations like as there is on the shl site? As it is not mentioned in the NATS handout.
One more question, where can i find more practice tests for the spatial reasoning and diagramming tests?, as the link i found in an old thread to a tiscali site doesn't seem to me anyway to work anymore.

haaaaaaaaaah just came back from the S1 test.They first killed our hopes with the spatial reasoning and the diagramming wich must be done within 20 MINUTES!!!!!!!! diagramming was ok but those cubes..
the rest was ok speacially the one about the motiv. paper i think they only asked 2 questions about the aircraft 1 was the cruising speed of A310 and the other about best route for A777 no seating quest. no begans 2 loooong weeks for either 
OR .Do they select those with highest mark or do they have a minima and everybody above it will be selected.

Scary stuff...
I've got about 2 weeks until my stage 1.
I think I'll be ok with spatial reasoning and the diagramming.
Hopefully I can memorize the rest of the lit before then... there sure is alot thru.
Was there any other questions, test they asked you?

all the tests is from SHL but taken by nats and yes they are the same (diagramming,spatial) but on my opinion it was more complicated but dont worry if u now how to do it fast and correct then u will come out of the room without the need for toilet

I did my Stage 1 Yesterday afternoon in London
I think it went well, i agree with falcon the cubes were the hardest but i found the diagramming far easier and felt good about the rest of it.
Thanks for everyones contributions so far its been a huge help!
