planning to do my s1 this weekend,
what is the duration of s1 and what is of s2?
is it important to have mouse or touchpad on laptop is fine ? (is it important to be fast on s1/s2 like it was the case with the feast ?)
is there any importance how big screen is ? 13'' or 15''?

thnx for the answers

I would really recommend a mouse and a comfortable sitting position

Each test in stage 1 is timed and you have to do as many examples as you can. The more you do the harder they get (if you answer correctly that is). I did it last sunday and it took my about 2 hours to finish. For one of those tests you really need a mouse to be able to move around the screen quickly.

When you are invited to book a date, do you mind sharing if they let you choose during the full 30 days?
Hi Andrea

If it's anything like the old system there's 4 a month (3 at CTC and 1 at prestwick) so no you don't get a choice, though I passed my stage 2 in feb and was allowed till may to sit my stage 3. If I were in your situation I would do 1 of 2 things (first option being preferable)

1. Reassess your motivations and make yourself available whenever you have to be.
i spent 7 days away from home and now well into the 」1000's in trains/taxis/hotels etc to get through from application to nailing stage 3.
At the end of the day if it's the thing for you, you will find a way.

2. Contact the recruitment email, explain your position and ask for some more info and thier veiw on your best way forward.
At the end of the day the process is ran by humans and they do understand that life isnt always simple.

Im sorry if my advice seems fairly blunt/harsh but the process is harsh and NATS invests heavily in the correct people and offers incredible reward, and as such expects the same excellence and commitment in return.

Unfortunately the first option is not posible for me as my Company expatriated me to Indonesia until next year and I only get to go home every two months.

I have contacted them, and the only information that gave me was that the dates will be released next week. So I think I will risk it and try to apply now.

Thanks anyway!

Stage 3 - Centre, must be completed within 30 days (We are all awaiting invite emails, apparently within the week now)

Hope that clears it up for you! Personally I would wait until you're back in country
My friend said that if they dont reply within an hour for stage 1 it can take up to 2-5 days to get your pass email so dont worry if you failed. Oh yeah im new to the forum so hello

Is anyone able to comment on the differences between the old Stage 2 and the new Stage 2?

I am taking my Stage 2 in the next couple of days - any advice would be invaluable.

Thank you!

From what I've heard its online where as before you would go to a centre I think and I'm guessing its similar to stage 1 now but don't take my word for it. If you can tell us what it was like after you have finished?

Hi there, I passed my stage 2 in March and have my stage 3 scheduled late May. I was just wondering about the schedule following the stage 3 interview (on the condition I pass of course!). When do the medical and start of training usually take place? I have a trip booked to Dubai for June and July and am wondering if I will have to reschedule.

Thanks!

You should be absolutely fine to go to Dubai. I知 at the same stage as you (stage 3 early May) and we were told during stage 2 that the next available spaces on training courses are Feb/Mar 2020 (although I知 hoping this might change). Also, there痴 apparently a bit of a wait for the medical, and I believe they are currently booking medicals for Jul/Aug, but you could presumably request a date in August.

That's great! Thanks for the info and good luck with your stage 3!

How long has it taken for people to get invited to the 1st stage of online tests in the "new" system?

Just wondered as last time I applied under the older system I seem to remember it was pretty instant, as if you just have to meet the pre-requisites. Been a few days now and my application just shows as "under review".

I've passed Stage 2 on Monday this week, still nothing regarding Stage 3 dates has come through to my email yet though. Can anyone comment on how long it took them?

We are all waiting on invite emails, I passed Stage 2 a couple of weeks ago. Most likely is that they are completing the old process applicants first before arranging the new process dates.

I may drop them an email tomorrow if nothing comes through by then

Oh really, thanks for your reply. Perhaps you're right re old process applicants. Hopefully not waiting much longer.

Seems like we will be one of the first groups to undertake the new Stage 3. From your understanding, do you know much more regarding S3 other than what the website informs us? (Retake S1 online tests, ATC Knowledge Test, Group Exercise & Interview)

Thanks

I have my stage 3 on Monday and I was part of the older way of doing things. I believe I will be one of the last group to do so!

I haven't got any new info. I know that a while ago they used to do group exercises as part of the application, so you could try reading through this entire thread and see what people had to say back then. It's possible they will re-use some elements of it?

Personally I'm happy to leave it an unknown as they intend it to be. At the end of the day, every part of the application tests our abilities and personalities to make absolutely sure we are the right people for the job. I'd be far more gutted if I got in because I "researched" ahead of the application stages and failed on course than if I failed the application because i'm just not the right person for the job. Does that make sense?

I passed Stage 2 on 7th April and still haven't heard re dates for Stage 3. I did email on the 11th to check and they said they're still sorting the dates out so like you said, they must be finishing the groups from the previous system. Good luck to those doing their Stage 3 soon!

I have my (old process) stage 3 on 8th May and I believe that was the last possible day to book it at CTC, although they had dates available at Prestwick on 30th and 31st May, so (based on pure speculation) I suspect come the 13th May or so they値l start the new process assessment dates.
