I've been invited to stage one on the 14th. I applied through an advert which said you had to be 18 when the course starts (October I believe it starts). But NATS.co.uk says be 18 when I applied. Im 18 in the first week of October. Will I get turned away?!

I emailed NATS two weeks ago but no response
I leave on Thursday so i need to know soon!

Hi, ideally this question is for someone who is passed the stage 1 or even better already an ATC

In the part of the booklet where you need to learn the aircraft types/FL/speed/seating etc

Can someone give me an example of a question?
Would it be something like:
If you are flying from London to East Coast USA what plane will you likely be in and what FL/speed is it likely to fly at?

Is the part of what airlines use what aircraft something you NEED to know as im strugling remembering what one uses what part from the key big companies like BA etc

Cheers!

Hi Sambatc,

I filled out my application form Friday 07/09 received my initial online assessment 10/09 completed that and I have booked a date for 03/10. So it seems they are still recruiting.

Long drive from Lincoln down to Southampton but I am looking forward to it. Plenty of revision on maths before I go down. Bit of a pain to find any similar online assessments to the ones provided in the email though. Fingers crossed for all.

Hi guys,

On the NATS website when it is listing the recruitment process it mentions a numeracy test on Assessment day one. Do you know what level this numeracy test is at? Will I just need to know multiplication, subtracting, adding, division and general speed calculations? or is it more in depth than that.

Thanks,
Owen

Hey knoblich,

I'm on the 8:15 on the 13th Sept as well!

Good luck, and to anyone else on their 1st stage!

Quick question,
When you arrive where do you report too? Do you report at reception and then get directions from there?

Thumbs down such a suspense

Hi Guys

anyone within the "wannabe" applicants that had not received a response yet, or worse, a flat out "game over" answer?

I can see some threads where at some point somebody knew nothing about and all of a sudden they got invited.

I have been waiting for a week by now and needless to say I am not a happy bunny.

spots are getting filled in the meantime.

is anyone still waiting that genuinely believes he/she did ok?

Cheers and good luck everyone.

Glad to hear how quickly people have recieved the emails from HR inviting them back for Stage 3, it gives me slightly more confidence before the huge day

I'll be going down to Southampton on Thursday the 20th of September (interview starts at 08:15). I'll be staying at the Premier Inn. I'm feeling a tad apprehensive at the moment though, but reading posts here helps to clear my mind!

Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone!

has anybody receive a negative reply or else no reply at all so far?

I have done the test more than a week ago and still biting my nails..

I know they must be real busy these days, however the filling of dates, booking train and plain tickets is somewhat discouraging, I have to say.

Anyone on the other side??

good luck to all.

Ps. I have emailed and phone them indeed...no answer yet

Hi SambaAtc

thanks for replying...

Yes, precisely....I have not heard anything about it or from them yet...I called them, wrote them and nothing so far...

It was not that difficult, but if I had not pass it...so be it!!

everybody seems to be booking dates, hotels, etc....

however time passes by and still lingering in a limbo..

Nearly a week after doing the bio-data questionnaire I got the invite to Stage 2 this afternoon. Talk about suspense! Haven't booked a date yet as I'm stuck at work again! There seems to be a theme of letting me know results whilst I can do nothing about thwm, lol!

Good luck with Stage 2 Kimmikins. I decided to go to the one last Thursday. Still sat here waiting to see if I passed and progressed onwards to Stage 3. Barely no fingernails left!

Hi there, I have some questions regarding the test material for stage 1 & the email they send you, has anyone used the Practice Tests on SHL Website link? I've been on it but I can't see what's meant to be done? Just linked straight to the homepage.

For the ATC test, I assume the test material comes from the 24 page word document. But how about the numeracy test? How in depth with math is that?

As for the spatial reasoning and diagramming tests I have no worries.

I understand that you're not allowed to discuss what exactly is in the tests but vaguely, I'd appreciate if someone could clear this up a bit, especially the SHL website!

Hi nosek,
I completed my test last Thursday and I have yet to hear a reply from them.

I wrote them an email earlier today so hopefully I should hear back soon.

I'll let you know if I find out about it.

I'll be going to down to NATS this Friday (14th), with my assessment booked for 10:45am.

I have seen that a couple of you are booked in for the 14th, but is anyone booked in for 10:45?

I won't lie...i'm bricking it a fair bit!
