Not now - I've got a headache!
Listening to Southend Approach (as I'm inclined to do), I have been struck by the number of light aircraft with truly awful tx side to their radios.
I would guess well over half have 'birdies' of varying severity on their tx, several being almost unintelligible through the squawks and howls.
My sympathies to the ATCOs who, being well used to this hardly ever comment, but must be prone to headaches!
Isn't there any requirement to have these radios checked occasionally?

Ah Southend I live about 5miles from Southend. I love it there. Alot of maintenance with ATC Lasham. The DC8 was in around 3 weeks ago.
Is it 130.77 still the radar. Well the pilot comms match the equipment inside the tower. All they have is primary track no datatags.
