US military aircraft crashes in South Korea

A Beech C-12 crashed at 2:43 p.m. local time (0543 GMT) 11 kilometers southwest of Camp Humphreys. This is near Soul and area is quite densly populated.
Apparently the aircrat crashed into a rice field near a restaurant

2 crew are believed to be killed. There are no reports of victims on ground.

C12 is a military version of Beech Kingair. It has been used for various tasks such as VIP transport, training, ESM/ELINT/ECM and survey to mention a few.

There were fire brigades going through downtown Seoul a couple of hours ago and a very large security presence for the daily riots at the U.S. Embassy, I don't know if any of this was related.

So far CNN has had its usual nonstop coverage of Israeli suicide bombing news, nothing yet about American military casualties in Korea.

I flew C-12s in Korea with USAF and Humphreys is probably 65 miles south of Seoul, let alone the crash occuring SW of it. Army flies them out of Humphreys as well as out of Seoul Mil, so it could have been either of them, or the USAF unit out of Osan as a guess. Osan flies the C-12J, which is not a King Air, but rather a 1900C. Prayers go out to the families no matter who it was.
