:( An R44 did a very heavy landing today on Mt Ziel in the NT. 4 POB. Evidently made a terrible mess of the machine. All occupants OK. Another Company helicopter few them all out. PS NT = Northern Terrirory, Australia. Mt Ziel is about 80nm W of Alice Springs @5000ft.

At what stage would you say a heavy landing, becomes a walk-away crash site, from what you describe it seems to point to the R44 not being able to T/O again:eek:

It was a R44 from Glen Helan Resort. All people on board are ok.:ok:

Rotor1 is that their own machine or does someone operate it for them.

I believe it is owned by Ayres Rock Helicopters but that could be just a Rumour.:ooh:
