rumours flying round NCL that Ryan are going to make a big announcement before Xmas, that upto 4 aircraft will be based at NCL operating to european destinations! A little competition for easyJet perhaps?

On the easy front, much speculation on the new routes for summer 2004, with aircraft 4/5 due to arrive! CPH, ROM, NCE, AGP, GVA, FAO all muted as possibilities.

With 2 loco airlines already with a heavy presence at NCL, not including Air Scotlands routes to BCN, PMI and GRO is this the start of massive loco expansion at NCL, not to mention huge increase in charter programmes? Is the Air Scotland routes going to continue?

Any other new services in the offing? :D

Just been announced that CT2's new airline AV8air will base a B767-300 at NCL next year and will operate direct flights to Durban, as well as TFS, AGP, ACE and ALC.

The airline intend to announce another long-haul destination soon...

I think it could well be a Northern version of Newcastle, its a great airport with lots of potential.

However, why did low fare airline Norwegian pull out?

Low fare airline Norwegian has never operated schedules thru NCL, just the odd charter.
Full fare airline Norwegian air shuttle did operate a Stavanger twice daily but were chased off by Wideroe & SAS.

Lets hope if it becomes a Northern STN it doesn't suffer from the problems as listed in the STN thread elsewhere.
